Long time! Though I'm sure you didn't notice, I've been completely offline for the last six months or so, but I'm reactivating my MySpace page for just one week to give those of you who care a quick update.
First of all, for you Right Coasters, I'll be returning to NYC next week to do a signing at Midtown Comics' GRAND CENTRAL store on June 26. This will be my first signing since the big Y wrap party (which, improbably, you can read all about over at The New York Times), and it will also be my

BKV.TV is going off the air for the foreseeable future as I start working overtime on a ton of new projects.
Thanks to everyone who supported this site and the BKV Cabal, especially those of you who stood by my fellow writers and me during the strike.
Be seeing you.

If you're as huge a fan of The Eels as I am, you can imagine how nutty it was to see Y: THE LAST MAN pop up in this recent Q Magazine interview with Mark Everett, the best singer/songwriter of his generation. Thanks to bkv.tv Caballero "Insertnamehere" for spotting it.
And thanks to all of you for the unbelievably overwhelming reaction to last week's final issue of Y, especially all of my colleagues who took time out of their hectic lives to donate some very kind words (and artwork!) to this lov

And no, I would never dream of charging money just to see my stupid moon-face, but this is a 100% tax-deductible donation to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, a charity that's vitally important to our medium, and I'll be joined by lovely co-creator Pia Guerra, and it sounds like editor Will Dennis and Y colorist Lee Loughridge will also be on hand (though they're probably only coming out to meet Joss Whedon, which is the only reason my wife will be there). Should be some fun surprises, too.

Chris Ware is my favorite living cartoonist, so I was beyond thrilled to make a "guest appearance" playing myself (?) in ACME NOVELTY LIBRARY #18, which also happens to be one of the best comics of the last several years (in spite of my ugly mug showing up, not because of it).
How the hell did I make this happen? Not by using my awkward charm to befriend the otherworldly talented Mr. Ware, nor by impressing him with my vastly inferior writing. No, I did it the old-fashioned way... by shelling o

Hey, sorry I've been M.I.A. Busy hanging with my new sidekick Hamburger K. Vaughan, who enjoys contributing to the rapidly declining value of my Los Angeles home by eating everything in it. Everything except Christmas Goose, his only love.
Also been on strike, which has been a bit of a drag, not because I'm not down with the cause (I am, way down), but because I miss hanging out with my fellow writers at LOST and kicking ass on our awesome stand-up Battlezone arcade game.
But I've spent the last

***Why is the WGA striking?
Because writers believe we deserve a fair share of the revenue generated by the stuff we helped to create, crazy as that sounds.
There’s an excellent summary of what I consider to be our very reasonable demands at this blog, which has been a consistently dependable source of good information about the strike: http://www.unitedhollywood.com/
But basically, writers are looking to negotiate modest residuals and protections for use of our TV shows and movies on the internet,

Thanks to the two bajillion of you who emailed me this clip from HBO's REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER (the best part is about five minutes in). In the off-chance that Ms. Garofalo reads this, that was beyond cool and totally made my week. If you ever want free comics swag, a complimentary Lost action figure, a role in the Y movie, etc., I hope you'll drop me a line: BrianKVaughan@aol.com
Speaking of television, Jon Lachonis over at BUDDY TV has been doing profiles of a few of the LOST writer/produce

The boss interviews me over at COMIC BOOK RESOURCES, and if that doesn't sufficiently bore you, you can read about how I got the gig (and the original Faith movie that almost happened) over at NEWSARAMA.
Five by five, etc.

I can't tell you how surreal it is to hear Kurt Loder say my initials, but thanks to producer Jennifer Vineyard for helping to edit me into something resembling coherence for this video report at MTV NEWS.

Thanks also to Rosario Dawson and Amber Benson for the very kind words about my books. But seriously, where the hell were you two when I was in high school...?

In other improbable celebrity news, CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM's Jeff Garlin was nice enough to call me his favorite writer during this inter
