About this author

I have worked many jobs to support my writing habit, from bookstore clerk to Research Technologist. I live in Ottawa where I am a member of Capital Crime Writers. As well as writing, I work as a Fitness Instructor and mom.

Writing is how I interact with the world and make sense of it all. My stories reflect a web of interests that intersect with me at the mid-point. Hence a blog of miscellany: http://miss-selaine-ious.jesande.com
(All puns intended).

I re-read the whole series. The funny thing is that I would have sworn up and down that the books were written in first person. But they're not. They are written in third person but the narrator speaks with Myron's voice. It's a neat trick, actually, because the author can still follow other characters and build tension by letting the reader know what's happening with them, without the main cha...

Coincidence Detection (Mystery & Thrillers)
1 chapters   —   updated May 13, 2015 06:33PM
Description: Jane is a private investigator specializing in missing persons, but considers reading her true passion. She reads at every opportunity and her choice of books is eclectic. Over the course of time she has noticed that whatever she happens to be reading parallels her life. Her husband says this is just coincidence, to which Jane responds that keeping an open mind in order to detect and use these coincidences helps her solve cases. Jane is just starting to read a new book, Doris Lessing’s “The Golden Notebook,” when she is hired to find a missing girl. In this, Jane’s first recorded case, she decides to conduct an experiment to demonstrate to herself, and to her doubting husband, that her coincidence detection theory is valid.

His last book; it feels like he needed to get a rant off. I don't care to say anything bad about a man's last book but my mind did wander while I read this. My first reaction was "WTF?" Was it just published because of who he was? If this were writte ...more

This was a lovely read and, just like the characters, I never wanted it to end. The author, however, tells us right in the beginning how it will all end and, lo!, she was right. I remember thinking when I read that sentence, "uh oh, why keep reading? ...more

I loved this Reacher installment. I thought the writing was almost poetic in it's precision and with the repetition of certain sentences. It put us in Jack's head and showed us what he saw, how he thought about what he saw. I enjoyed the story as wel ...more
