A GOOD BOOK GETS ITS DUE
September 2007 will mark the fourth anniversary of the publication of “Encyclopedia of the Harlem Renaissance” (Facts On File Publishing) and the strength of its impact remains evident both from the number of works that cite it as a reference source and from ongoing reviews.
The encyclopedia now sits in more than a thousand libraries across the globe, has picked up Choice Outstanding Academic Title and Best History Book Awards, and was listed by Black Issues Book Reviews as an “essential title for the home library.”
Among the major titles that cite “Encyclopedia of the Harlem Renaissance” are: “Recommended Reference Books for Small and Medium-sized Libraries and Media Centers” by Martin Dillon; “Music Musique: French & American Piano Composition in the Jazz Age” by Barbara Meister; and “Black France: Colonialism, Immigration, and Transnationalism” by Dominic Thomas.
