They are very hard to see because pigeons roost in protected spaces and the babies stay in the nest for 2 months! I’m sure you know these fun facts and that’s why you asked.
But here’s the thing--there’s a morning dove nest right outside my back door this year. My neighbor says the mother has nested in his backyard for YEARS and this year it chose a huge huge bush on our property line. I noticed that a morning dove was nearly beheading me anytime I went outside, and then sitting on the fence, likely threatening me with her various noises. The nest was just high enough that I couldn’t see the little ones. So that’s as close as I’ve gotten!(less)

Which is a boring answer for it’s best not to talk about specifics except to say the following: one project is about cartoons and suicide. Another is about music and mental health and siblings. And another is about what people do when they think they’ve totally ruined their lives but actually have to keep on living.(less)

In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
In the Aeroplane Over the Sea by Kim Cooper

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was hoping for a bit more about the complexity of Jeff Magnum’s mental health/personality here, since there are elements to his personality referenced that don’t get a clear presentation -- perhaps because no one speaks ill (or completely honestly) of him or because Cooper was not given enough clarity into his manner.** For... “When I hug trees, the bark marks my cheek and reminds me I'm alive. Or that my nervous system is still intact. The trees breathe all the time and no one really notices. They take in all the air we choke on. They live and die in silence. So I hug them. Someone should.”

Don DeLillo, White Noise

“California deserves whatever it gets. Californians invented the concept of life-style. This alone warrants their doom.”
Don DeLillo, White Noise

“The power of the dead is that we think they see us all the time. The dead have a presence. Is there a level of energy composed solely of the dead? They are also in the ground, of course, asleep and crumbling. Perhaps we are what they dream.”

Alixandra Gould i've been reading that book for 4 years! i've never gotten out of it. it's the only constant in my life.

Alixandra Gould one's worth is clearly based on the amount of books one claims to have read, regardless of title, genre, or quality.

message 4: by Evan
