Author bio:

I was born in Michigan in 1979, the fourth of five children. Childhood passed in a blur of humid summers and freezing, snowy winters.

I started writing after devouring hundreds of traditional Regency romances. I used to believe it took some kind of genius to write a book. Knowing I was not a genius, I decided to try anyway. After sitting down with a set of characters and a basic plot, I wrote my first book from start to finish. It wasn't perfect or even good by any means, but it was still something to be proud of.

Over a dozen manuscripts later, I finally consider myself a writer.

My favorite Regency authors include Jane Austen, Patricia...more

The following is a crossover post (July 31, 2011) from my Heartless blog:

Usage des Nouvelles Mesures 1800One of my beta readers questioned why I used miles instead of kilometers in Heartless. Her question actually floored me; it was something I'd never really thought about. I knew miles to be the unit of measurement used during the Regency but I wasn't sure when kilometers came into use in Britain.

So I decided to look it up.... read more »

The Fold (Horror)
1 chapters — updated Jul 08, 2009 10:38pm
Description: Flash Fiction - horror-ish, totally not romance... I had entered this recently in a contest. Didn't win but ranked 50th by popular vote (out of 280). Critiques would be great. I'd kind of like to know what I did wrong...
Fascination (Romance)
1 chapters — updated Jan 09, 2009 09:08am
Description: An excerpt from another Regency I'm working on. It is patiently awaiting its ending while I get two others ready to publish. This book is far from "complete." It still needs some work, but this particular scene makes me smile. From the first moment Deveraux and Raewynne met, they were attracted to each other. Pulling some strings, Deveraux manages to get Raewynne to London and accepted into higher circles than her family would normally enjoy. The following scene takes place at the home of his father, the Marquis of Preston. Note: This story is connected to the other Regencies I've written. The hero from Spellbound is Deveraux's godfather.
Deception (Romance)
1 chapters — updated Dec 01, 2008 12:15pm
Description: An excerpt from my new book, Deception. This is the story of Levi Greville and Aurora Glendenning. It takes place right after Betrayal. Aurora needs a husband. Her past was catching up with her and only a man deeply in love would protect her from the storm she knew was coming. To that end, she launches a false campaign, claiming to be penniless. Levi needs a wife. His debts have exceeded his income and marriage seems the only solution. When he meets Aurora, he decides he wants no one else. Her lack of money is a deterrent, however.
Spellbound (Romance)
1 chapters — updated Oct 28, 2008 06:06pm
Description: When Raven Emerson, actress extraordinaire, is asked to impersonate a missing noblewoman, she is curious enough to accept despite the risk to herself should she get caught. Delving into the mystery that is her new employer occupies her despite the physical temptation the man represents. Having sworn never to take another protector after the horrifying spectacle she'd made of herself with the last one, this is a challenge of monumental proportions. Her employer, the elusive Duke of Windhaven, is desperate to make his family think he is happily and properly engaged. Hiring Raven is a means to an end. Falling in love with her merely increases his determination to call the beautiful actress his own. Staging a phony marriage ceremony to satisfy his grandmother helps reveal certain things about Raven that do not add up. Fighting demons from his own past, he convinces her to uphold the charade until he can uncover the secrets of her childhood.
Betrayal (Romance)
1 chapters — updated Oct 27, 2008 10:37am
Description: Running for her life, Bri finds herself in a situation she cannot escape-under the power of Adam Prestwich. Returned to the clutches of her money-hungry family, she tries her best to endure the petty cruelties and indignities inflicted on her by her family and her betrothed. When the abuse becomes too much, she must rely on her friends to save her even though she has done everything in her power to drive them away. Adam Prestwich is keeping secrets. Owning a title he'd rather not acknowledge is the least of them. Falling in love with a woman he despises quickly becomes the worst of them. When the actions of her family once again place her in his care, he must distance himself to avoid an entanglement that would cause nothing but misery.
