In SEVEN UP, Stephanie Plum is dropped into a smorgasbord of murder, kidnapping, and extortion - a magnificent buffet of fast cars, fast men and fast food.

Stephanie Plum think she's going after an easy FTA: a senior citizen charged with smuggling contraband cigarettes. But when she and Lula show up at his house, they get more than they bargained for - a corpse in the woodshed and an old man on the lam. Stephanie's mind is on other matters, however, because she has two proposals to consider: vice cop Joe Morelli is proposing marriage, and fellow bounty hunter Ranger is proposing a single perfect night . .

A fabulous lost Amazon city once inhabited by women warriors and containing a rare red diamond: it sounded like myth, but archeologist Jillian Sherwood believed it was real, and she was willing to put up with anything to find it - even Ben Lewis. Ruffian, knock-about, and number one river guide in Brazil, Ben was all man - over six feet of rock-hard muscles that rippled under his khakis, with lazy blue eyes that taunted her from his tanned face. Jillian watched him come to a fast boil when she refused to reveal their exact destination upriver in the uncharted rain forests - and resolved to stand her ground. Neither of them could foresee what the days ahead promised: an odyssey into the fiery heart of passion and betrayal, and a danger that would force them to cast their fates together, immersed in the eternal, unsolved mysteries of love....

Leslie Morgan Steiner met the love of her life at age 22, soon after graduating from Harvard and starting her first job at Seventeen magazine in New York. She fell for his self-deprecating wit and street smarts – and especially his unabashed worship of her. They married and spent four years together. At first Leslie felt like the woman of his dreams.

Then she discovered her husband had been beaten as a child, taught by his parents that intimacy and rage danced together. He brought violence into their life, pouring coffee grinds over her hair, choking and threatening her with a gun during arguments. Several times, he came close to making good on his threats to kill her. Leslie’s mistake is one millions identify with: she fell in love with the wrong man. It took one last terrifying attack to convince her that he would kill her one day if she let him.

Gripping and compelling, Crazy Love unravels the traps laid by love, mesmerizing listeners with insights into why smart women stay in unhealthy relationships – and how one found the courage to leave.

“The book stands as a warning to all women to be vigilant when they pick their spouses, to always have an exit strategy in mind, to know where the money in the marriage is, to pick up as much education as possible – all against the possible day when they may find themselves battered, broke, terrified and alone.” – Carolyn See

What is more alarming is that the unstable young mother plans to regain custody of her son and disappear with him into the fold of the church. She has the Remnant on her side, and they’ll do anything it takes – including murder – to get what they want. But it’s another member of the Remnant who’s killed, and when Evan’s brother becomes a suspect, Evan is dragged even deeper into the nightmare.

“From beginning to end, China Lake is a book no reader of thrillers will be able to put down. Agent Maggie O'Dell and Assistant Director Cunningham believe they're responding to a threat made at Quantico. Instead they walk into a trap. Before they realize it, they've both been exposed to a killer who can strike at anyone, at any time, and no one can predict who might be next…until it's too late.
The killer's tactics suggest he's an aficionado of criminal minds. He uses bits and pieces from those he admires: a phrase from the Beltway Snipers, a clue from the Unabomber, a delivery method similar to the Anthrax Killer. His weapon is a deadly virus, virtually invisible and totally unexpected. His victims appear to be random but, in fact, they are chosen with a revengeful precision. The vaccine is limited and untested.
Maggie knows dangerous minds—from hauntingly perverse child predators to cunningly twisted serial killers. Now she faces a new opponent from inside an isolation ward at a biosafety containment hospital. Maggie must help Agent R. J. Tully find clues to catch the killer—while waiting to see if the deadly strain is already multiplying in her body. With every new exposure there's the potential for an epidemic. And Maggie knows she and Cunningham may not live long enough to discover who is the deadliest, most intelligent killer they've ever profiled.

Evan Delaney, novelist and legal go-fer, is dressed as Diana Ross in order to crash a fancy-dress party and serve a summons, when she hears that Franklin Brand is back in town. Brand is the hit-and-run driver who sentenced Evan's lover Jesse to life in a wheelchair, and killed his best friend. Since the accident, Brand has been avoiding justice overseas; but if he's back, Evan and Jesse are determined to get him, helped by the dead boy's brother Adam. Brand had been a high-flier in Mako Technologies, a cyber-security firm, and this is where Evan starts looking. She quickly uncovers evidence that Brand was embezzling funds, and that Adam's brother knew all about it. So maybe that hit-and-run wasn't an accident at all? Then the policeman investigating is killed, and Adam and Jesse both come under suspicion. The plot has more twists, thrills and spills than a white-knuckle ride, and is complicated by the confused emotions of the main parties involved: Jesse feels a survivor's guilt; Adam resents the fact that Jesse is alive while his brother died. But there are more corpses - including a near miss for Evan herself - to come before the bad guys are finally brought to justice.

When the body of a young woman washes up on the black sands of the California beach Jericho Point, it’s identified as Evan Delaney’s. But Evan is very much alive – apparently the victim of an identity thief who was playing the Hollywood rich for everything they’re worth. The crook may be dead, but the crimes she was murdered for – crimes committed in Evan’s name – are turning Evan’s life into a nightmare. Now, in the shadow of a dead woman’s lies, it’s all Evan can do to survive.

“[A] GRIPPING PLOT...You’ll find it impossible to find a resting point.” – Evening Times (Glasgow)
“A RELENTLESS, CLAUSTROPHOBIC examination of mistaken identity and the terror of being accused of a crime for which you are not responsible.” – Sherlock
“FAST-PACED, WITTY, AND BRUTAL.” – The Independent (London)

From storm drains, illegal dumps, and flooded landfills, all of North America’s most advanced technology flows down the Mississippi river – microchips, nano-devices, pharmaceuticals, genetically modified seed – and lodges in the Louisiana delta. Out of this mire emerges a self-organized neural net, drifting in the water: the Watermind. It can freeze, boil, condense, and move – seemingly at will.

CJ Reilly is a brilliant, sexy, self-destructive MIT dropout running away from Cambridge and the suicide of her ironic, emotionally-distant father. She is both infuriating and sympathetic. She is working as a laborer in Devil's Swamp near Baton Rouge, cleaning up a small pollution spill when she and her new lover, Max, discover the mysterious Watermind.
Reilly's more interested in investigating it than containing it, but when it kills someone and escapes into the Mississippi, corporations, governments, protesters, the coast guard, and a really wacky underground journalist get involved. And there's no longer any question that it must be destroyed before it reaches the ocean.

Watermind is Philip K. Dick meets The Blob, a postmodern combination of camp SF motifs and writerly ambition attacking serious subjects.

“M.M. Buckner’s Watermind is powered by a lean, reaching prose, a protagonist so real you can practically reach out and touch her, and a tight techno-savvy plot that will leave you exhausted! The best book I’ve read in years.” -- William C. Dietz, author of Legion of the Damned
