About this author

Hi! I'm Jaime Rush, also known as Tina Wainscott, author of 24 books and 3 novellas, mostly paranormal romantic suspense. My first book was ON THE WAY TO HEAVEN (April 1995) and my new PNR series, called The Hidden, debuted with connected e-novellas, DRAGON MINE and DRAGON RISING.

Miami, a city of decadence, sunshine, and Dragons, Angels, and Sorcerers. As humans who hold the essence of ancient gods, Crescents walk the knife's edge between the mundane and the Hidden, a dangerous world of dark magick, deadly power, and hot passion.

My first Jaime Rush series, the Offspring (Avon Books/Harper Collins), is about a group of twenty-somethings with enhanced psychic abilities who discover they are the offspring of parents involved in a mysterious

Kade chuckled, shaking his head. "The people whom I want to fear me—my opponents—aren't usually afraid of me. They think they're better, faster. They're usually wrong."

"Oh, and tell me what it's like to be so humble too, while you're at it."
Another laugh, as rich as whiskey. "Who ne... Read more of this blog post »

Hi, Cassie! Maybe you haven't gotten enough of the structure down. I'm new to series writing myself after having written 18 stand-alone books, and it's a different animal. You may be at the wrong beginning, too. Play with ideas and start at different points just for fun. And different characters. Something's stuck because it isn't right. Stories do change from the synopsis. I write from mine, but you should see all the scribbles where things have changed or been deleted or happened earlier than I'd planned. It's just a rough outline to help you move the story along and keep it on track. Don't sweat it.

A lot of writers get stuck in the middle, so hey, you're getting your stuckness out of the way in the beginning. :) Once you get past the hump, you'll be just fine. Start with action, too, something exciting or interesting going on right from the get-go. Don't set up the story or the character or the scene at the outset.

Good luck!
Jaime

Cassie Thank you for friending me! I need your help! I'm trying to write a book/series, and every time I try I get stuck at the begining. Then when I try to write the book, my story changes. Do you have any advice for me?
