Raised in a family of book lovers, Misha's mother first encouraged her to read by offering to pay her two cents per page of Hop on Pop, by Dr. Seuss. At first Misha was happy just to be raking in the cash, but before long she traded the pennies for the riches of the written word, and since that time she’s seldom been seen without a book in her hand.

Her first novel was published in 2008; in 2010 she was a finalist for the Bronte Prize for Romantic Fiction.
Misha is married and lives, works and writes in Northern Virginia.

HeartIt’s just come to my attention that there are Sports happening today: a whole bowlful of them, in fact!

I never learned to speak Sports, myself (although I do know the real names of all five Marx Brothers, so I’m still cool, right? Right…?) butI want to wish all sports-minded folk a Happy Sports Bowl Day! May your high fives be many, and may your team score all the points. Go, Sports!

This is a terrible thing for a writer to admit, but I honestly have no words to describe how much I love John Fante. Dreams from Bunker Hill is simultaneously funny, tragic and just plain fascinating. Can't wait to read it again!

“It seems to me that trying to live without friends is like milking a bear to get cream for your morning coffee. It is a whole lot of trouble, and then not worth much after you get it.”
