My published novels are LITTLE BROTHER'S WORLD (2010), JUDGMENT DAY AND OTHER DREAMS (2009), ANCESTOR’S WORLD (1996; with A.C. Crispin) and RETREAD SHOP (1988). My poetry has appeared in the collection MOTHER EARTH'S STRETCH MARKS (2009), Motherbird Books. My short stories have appeared in Analog, Pulphouse, Tomorrow, Absolute Magnitude, The Silver Web, VB Tech Journal, Expanse, Aberrations, Figment, Pandora and Midnight Zoo magazines, and in the collection JUDGMENT DAY AND OTHER DREAMS (2009), Fantastic Books. I write hard science fiction, anthropological SF, dark fantasy/horror and contemporary fantasy/magic realism. I'm a graduate of UCLA (M.A. 1976 in archeology) and the University of Tennessee (B.Sc. 1971, in journalism). I've worked as an archaeologist in the American Southwest and have traveled widely in Europe, Russia, Japan, Canada, Mexico and the United States. Other jobs have included short order cook, hotel clerk, legal assistant, telephone order taker, investigative reporter and newspaper editor. In past years, I was a Tennessee hippie. My grown children are Keith, Karen and Kevin. Within the SF community, I've appeared at many cons, served as SFWA Elections Chair in 1990 and was chair of the Philip K. Dick Award jury in 1996. Tom now rabble rouses in Los Alamos, New Mexico, USA, where he writes scifence fiction, poetry and freelance non-fiction.
