“Hope, I've discovered, is a sad nuisance. Hope is a horse with a broken leg.”
Lyndsay Faye, The Gods of Gotham

“As he passed a hand over his eyes, I recalled the he could not have slept more than twenty hours in the last seven days. For the first time since I had known him, Sherlock Holmes appeared to be exhausted by work rather than inaction.

"Because if I am right," he murmured, "I haven't the first idea what to do.”
Lyndsay Faye, Dust and Shadow: An Account of the Ripper Killings by Dr. John H. Watson

“Being brave and being alone aren't the same thing.”

Chris Teel Finished Gods of Gotham this morning and it was amazing. Thankfully I recently jammed my Kindle full of Sherlock Holmes stories to tide me over. Hadn't read Holmes prior to Dust and Shadow. Can't wait for your next book.

Michael I finished TGOG and posted a review. Thanks for writing an enjoyable book. I look forward to your work in the future!
