| First off, I have to say that I think Cassandra Clare is an amazing writer. She does so many things really well. Great pacing, action, and characterization. Her description is perfect--not too flowery, but descriptive enough to bring the scene alive....more | |

| I loved the characters in this book. Richard Peck knows how to create quirky, interesting folks to populate his books. This book seemed more like a series of short stories with the grandma as the central character so it didn't read like a novel, but...more | |

| I have to say that Anthony Horowitz does great boy wish-fulfillment action books. I think he must think of really cool/scary escape scenes and then craft his books around those scenes. Very James Bondish. Except I actually like Alex Rider whereas I t...more | |

“Madame Bellwings, Memoir Elf Coordinator, was not at all pleased with this request, because elves who write the memoirs of teenage girls have the habit of returning to the magical realm with atrocious grammar. They can't seem to shake the phrases "watever" and "no way," and they insert the word like into so many sentences that the other elves start slapping them...and for no apparent reason occasionally call out the name Edward Cullen.”

“Charlotte: "It’s too bad they don’t give out diplomas for what you learn at the mall, because I could graduate with honors in that subject. No really. Since I’ve worked there, I’ve become an expert on all things shopping-related. For example, I can tell you right off who to distrust at the mall:
1) Skinny people who work at Cinnabon. I mean, if they’re not eating the stuff they sell, how good can it be?
2) The salesladies at department store makeup counters. No matter what they tell you, buying all that lip gloss will not make you look like the pouty models in the store posters.
3) And most importantly—my best friend’s boyfriend, Bryant, who showed up at the food court with a mysterious blonde draped on his arm.”

Thanks for listing the giveaway for My Double Life on goodreads. I'm so glad that I won, and I can't wait to read it and review! :)
I love "Just One Wish" so far (page 78). The combination of "slightly-missed-moments" (i.e. in the stadium), the heartbreaking Jeremy-talks about genie-wishes, the no-matter-what-friendship and the heroic scenes (i.e. Toys-R-Us-action) wins me over easily.I am pretty convinced that you would love one of my ya favourites: "My most excellent year" by Steve Kluger: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11...
Your books are Amamzing!! I love reading them!! Som eof my teachers at school are really impressed that i know you!
Janette wrote: "I was just a judge for a romance contest so I had to read a dozen or so books, but a thousand? Nope. You must have me confused with someone else--either that or goodreads is posting things for me."I was merely exaggerating. ;) But that explains why you've been so busy. Judging a romance contest AND revising a book makes for a busy person.
I was just a judge for a romance contest so I had to read a dozen or so books, but a thousand? Nope. You must have me confused with someone else--either that or goodreads is posting things for me.
You are a reading machine. Every few days there's another thousand or two books you've polished off. Where do you find the time? ;)
Janette, I just read one of your blogs (the things that bother you about ya authors) and I wanted you to know that I do appreciate romantic comedies! I think your books are great and can't wait until your new ones come out. I do think authors write about trashy stuff anymore and I like your books. They're clean but super entertaining. I think you're halarious and laugh when I read your blogs. Most people think they have to write about bad things to get people to read their books but people would be entertained with a little comedy too. Thanks for your great books, Jourdan :D
Thanks Janette for adding me as a friend. I LOVE your titles. They hook you right off the bat!Blessings,
Jeannie
