About this author

Richard L. Mabry, MD, is a retired physician who has ben widely recognized for his professional accomplishments. After the death of his first wife in 1999, he used journaling as a coping tool. Excerpts from this writing form the basis for his popular book, The Tender Scar: Life After The Death Of A Spouse. He is frequently called upon to speak about grief and loss from a Christian perspective. The Tender Scar is now in its third printing, and is in use by pastors, counselors and seminary professors, as well as providing a tool for healing for thousands of people who have lost a loved one.
