Joe Posnanski is sports columnist for The Kansas City Star and Sports Illustrated. He has twice been named the best sports columnist in America by The Associated Press Sports Editors.

He has written two books, “The Good Stuff,” a collection of columns, and “The Soul of Baseball: A Road Trip Through Buck O’Neil’s America,” which won the Casey Award as best baseball book of 2007. His work has been anthologized in “The Best American Sportswriting."

Joe grew up in Cleveland, and now lives in Kansas City with his wife, Margo, and their two daughters, Elizabeth and Katie. He is hard at work -- or should be -- on "The Machine," about the 1975 Cincinnati Reds, which should be published in winter 2009.
