About this author

Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen never thought she'd grow up to be a writer. She'd thought of being a doctor (but she's afraid of blood), a model (but she likes to eat), the president (but she had a dissolute youth)... so much for childhood dreams. Sudipta is the author of eleven picture books and seventeen nonfiction books for children including The Hog Prince, illustrated by Jason Wolff (Dutton, 2009), Ballots for Belva, illustrated by Courtney Martin (Abrams, 2008) and The Mine-o-saur, illustrated by David Clark (Putnam, 2007). Sudipta often visits schools to share her stories, and teaches writing to children and adults. She lives in New Jersey with her husband, three children, and an imaginary pony named Penny. I've been watching this show. Kind of like you watch a train wreck. I can't look away. Especially because the show has decided to incorporate a level of irony into it's title and premise that is almost unmatched in television. Is there any part of these housewives that could be considered real?

I live in New Jersey. I used to be a housewife. I don't know anyone like those women. Nor would I real... Read more of this blog post »

Eva Leger My daughter still talks about The Mine-O-Saur and that was one we found at our library! I haven't found it in a store yet or I'd have bought it for her. It was months ago actually and she loved it that much! Great job- it's hard for me to really like childrens books but that was in really good!
