about this author
Wendy Palmer was born in Perth, Western Australia, but currently lives in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She’s patted tigers, ridden elephants, dog-sledded across glaciers, faced down lions in the Serengeti, swum with whale sharks, and camped in the Sahara, but she secretly prefers curling up with a good book.
Her first novel, After the Dragon, features thieves, kings, and elves, though the dragon of the title is merely figurative.
Her second novel is The Frog Prince’s Daughters. It has feisty girls and eye-candy boys.
Her latest novel is Bastard’s Grace, a romance-bromance-adventure fantasy tale about a battle-scarred veteran and his loyal sergeant. There’s also a girl involved. There always is.
She has had several SF stories published, including Lost in the Woods in Lost!, an anthology by Ginninderra Press; Excision, about zombies; a story in the first Futuristic Motherhood Anthology; and Silent Song, which you can read for free on the Future Fire website.
She has also published a body of non-fiction articles analysing literature, including a look at time travel fiction and a piece on literary crushes (Lord Peter Wimsey is her own favourite literary crush). Her first non-fiction book is self-help expat guidebook Continental Shift: How to Move Yourself, Your Family, and Your Stuff Overseas.
