Enns was formerly a professor of Old Testament and hermeneutics at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He holds a B.A. in behavioral science from Messiah College (1982), an M.Div. from Westminster Theological Seminary (1989), and an M.A. (1993) and Ph.D. (1994) from Harvard University. Enns is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature, the Institute for Biblical Research, and the Evangelical Theological Society. He is a ruling elder in the Presbyterian Church in America.
