Hello,

Legacy of Magick launched February 22, 2015 and has done fantastically!
My very first novel Legacy of Magick is available on Kindle, Nook and as a paperback through Amazon.com  At the moment it is up to 68 reviews on Amazon and the feedback has been wonderful!

Here is the back cover blurb:

So it turns out Magick runs in the family...
Autumn Bishop was just your average grad student...who happens to be a Seer. When she moves in with her long lost aunt and cousins, they look like a relatively normal family from the outside, however they turn out to be so much more.
When ancient traditions, longstanding magickal feuds, ghostly visitors, and Witches with malicious intentions start coming out of the woodwork, Autumn finds herself smack in the middle of the action as everything she thought she knew is turned upside down.
Drawn, as if by fate, into her family’s legacy of magick, a new world unfolds for her, as her old one is left irretrievably behind. Here is the direct link to Amazon to order. Legacy Of Magick by Ellen Dugan

January 23, 2015

Hello,
Its been a while since I posted an entry. Last October my daughter got engaged, then I was on tour, we had the holidays, my daughter got her Master's degree, moved back into town, the new year rolled around... and here we are!

If you are wondering why I haven't posted in a while... We are deep in the throes of wedding planning here at my house. My daughter and her fiance have the date set for next year and we have booked ceremony and reception venues.

Okay here we go... I have a HUGE announcement. My first novel, Legacy of Magick will be released very soon! (End of February- early March 2015) I will unveil the cover art, and synopsis in a few weeks while I am at Convocation. February 19-21.

Here's a teaser for you... this will be the first book in a multi- book series, and its' paranormal novel about a modern day magickal family.

Yes, I decided to go INDY for my fiction series. Why you may ask? Because it's fun, its MUCH faster getting the book out into the world, and it makes smart business sense.

I had so much fun and success with Indy publishing Every Witch Way this past year— that I decided not to wait to do it again! So for 2015 you can expect that novels one and two of the series will be out and ready to purchase from amazon, both as a physical book and as an eBook.

So without further ado here is the copyrighted Logo of my first novel.

Legacy of Magick will be available for purchase both as a physical book and an eBook soon from Amazon.com

The cover art will be released in a few weeks! Check back here to see it!
Blessed be, Ellen

Hello!
Its been a crazy, busy summer, and now Fall is in the air! Tour Season is Gearing up and I hope you are all ready, Witches!

This summer, I released my first INDY eBook with my friend Tess Whitehurst. The eBook is called Every Witch Way: Spells and Advice from Two Very Different Witches!

This book was a blast to write and I am happy to say that it has done very well for us, and it has given folks plenty to talk about. Tess and I decided it would be fun to tackle topics that most authors won't touch, and to show that you CAN have vastly different opinions, styles and magickal practices and still be friends.

In our eBook there is plenty of magick and spells, lots of humor, some practical advice- as well as a healthy dose of tongue in cheek humor for everyone to enjoy, and at only $5.99 on Kindle its a real bargain!

Click here to order your own copy of this fun little eBook! Every Witch Way eBook

The lure of casting a spell and having money appear "just like magick" is very attractive to darn near everyone. In this straightforward class Ellen will be teaching about the colors, crystals and herbs that are most complimentary for this particular type of spell work. The seven hermetic laws, and the law of attraction, will be discussed as well as the correct astrological and lunar timing for your best prosperity spell results. Also there will be an honest discussion on how to avoid those "rookie Witch mistakes" so prosperity spells don't backfire.

June 9, 2014

Hello,
Well we survived the Pagan Picnic- only lost one book to torrential downpours. Water plus books is bad. This year it was not a matter of "if" it would rain- it was "when" and how severe would the storms be. We took an extra canopy and tarps, plus plastic totes, and plastic garbage bags to protect the books. When you have 15 titles in print and you take several of each not to mention a couple cases of the newest title to an outdoor event, you had better be prepared for everything.
Usually the everything is bugs, sun, humidity and heat. This year it was no chairs at the author tables, bugs, mud, humidity. light rain, and noon time thunderstorms that last over an hour.

We tried to make the best of it. Here is a photo collage of me and fellow Llewellyn Author and my coven-sister Ember Grant. Next Me, Ember and Lenora Henson (The three Witchy ladies on author's row) Then my friend and coven sister Charlynn with her little guy, (Charlynn has organized and been in charge of the Picnic and its authors and guests for several years.) Then the final picture bottom right is of Heather, Ember and I out after the Picnic was over having our traditional Margaritas.

It was great to see people out and about braving the elements. My favorite moments of the picnic would be when my friend Heather let me borrow her little camp chair to sit at the table with. It was short so I felt like a kid sitting behind the table. But at least it was a chair. Seeing our friends Rebecca, Sab and Meg, chatting with the regulars from the discussion group that Charlynn and I host. Mickie Mueller's adult daughters who just happened to appear as the rain began to help us get all of the displayed books protected from the rain. Poof! They just happened to be walking along and ended up being right in front of my booth as the rain started dumping. Thanks ladies!

Another moment I won't soon forget, was deciding to get under the big stone pavilion at the park for my newest book's  Practical Prosperity Magick lecture. Usually I have to talk over the bands playing to lecture. This year it was cracks of thunder, howling wind and pouring rain. But we huddled in the center of the large pavilion, under the sturdy roof and felt safer than standing out in the middle of an open area under a little canopy with no sides. I had several people remark that I was one of the only people to go ahead and lecture during the worst of the storms.
It was a bit wild standing under that pavilion with assorted families taking shelter and a dozen or so folks all huddled up to attend the lecture-- no matter what.

Meanwhile back at author's row, My husband Ken, our friends Rebecca, Heather, and Charlynn's family huddled under the extra easy up we had brought along and my husband added more protection by zip tying tarps to create sides to our extra canopy. Ember and Lenora pulled their books and stood there under their canopies and held the fort with my family and friends on author's row. Basically we all got through. After my lecture when the rain let up, I went back to my "booth" with my friends Charlynn, Sab and Meg, who had walked over to hear the lecture, to find things well in hand, and that during the deluge we had only one copy of my newest book got water damaged. Not too bad considering.

I also soon learned that Ember had been selling her handmade crystal bracelets and enchanted candles during the storm. Well she did write the book on "Magical Candle Crafting"  and The Book of Crystal Spells, after all. LOL

Later in the afternoon my sons texted us to let us know that tornadoes were on the ground in the county where we live- about 45 minutes west of the park in St. Louis. Then my husband's cell phone started going off with warnings from the weather center about the approaching storms and we all decided that we had had enough excitement. I quietly told the other authors and we broke down, packed up and got the hell out of there before the next big storm. We no sooner got our cars packed up and started to pull out of the park when another storm broke with even more rain than before. Talk about good timing.  (Hey, I must be psychic or something.)

So we took our time driving out of the city and headed west. My husband and I, Heather and Ember stopped for dinner. I bought everyone a drink and we toasted to surviving yet another Pagan Picnic.
Will I be back next year? I'm not sure. Looks like there will be a family wedding in June- one of my many nephews- so we will have to see.

In the meantime I am gearing up for my July East Coast mini-tour for Practical Prosperity Magick. Tour stops will be.
Wednesday, July 9th Portland, Maine at Leapin' Lizards.
Thursday, July 10th Salem, Massachusetts at Pyramid Books,
Friday, July 11th in New Hampshire at The Temple of Witchcraft
Saturday, July 12th at The Robin's Nest in Bellingham, Mass.

Blessed be, Ellen

May 24, 2014

Hello,
I realized that in the whirl and rush of Practical Prosperity Magick coming out in 2 weeks, finishing up Book #16, and working on three other book projects, plus life in general, I had not posted to my blog in a while.
First news- Practical Prosperity Magick is hot off the presses and will be released in two weeks! I received my advanced author copies and they look great!

The reviews have been positive and I am excited to start promoting this one! In two weeks I will be appearing at the St. Louis Pagan Picnic, and I will be there with plenty of copies so come on out sit in on my FREE class on prosperity magick and come and get yourself a book. (As always I will also have copies of all of my books and tarot deck, Witches Tarot, at my booth on author's row for sale.)
For more information on the Pagan Picnic click on the link!  paganpicnic.org/

In other news... I heard back from my editor on the launch meeting for my first non-witchcraft title- what I had been affectionately referring to as "Book #16th"  and the official title will now be "The Natural Psychic: Ellen Dugan's Personal Guide to the Psychic Realm".
I am thrilled with the book and can't wait for you all to see it next year. I know, I know... a year away. As soon as I get a firm release date I will announce it of course. The Natural Psychic will be released in Spring/ Summer 2015.

I decided to let myself really be creative this year and I opened an Etsy store this spring for my arts and witch-crafts. Here is the link so you can check it out!

www.etsy.com/shop/EllentheGardenWitch

I have been having so much fun with the shop and the items are selling like hotcakes! The vintage looking wooden signs are very popular. Here is a little collage of a few of the witchy wooden signs that I have conjured up!

That's right, I make these myself.
Each one of these wooden signs I personally paint, stencil, distress and or antique, as well as seal and then I sign every one of them on the back!
In addition to the fun wooden signs I also sell wands, pentacles, bewitching nesting boxes, and Altered Book of Shadows!  The first one that I created  sold in 2 minutes flat. So I am working on two more. Each altered book will be one of a kind and unique.
To the left is a sample from one of the new book of shadows. They are labor intensive but I enjoy the process and I have fabulous theme pages such as; Gothic, witchy, vintage, botanical, Halloween, floral, nature and so forth. The altered books include spells of my own design, as well as plenty of places for you to journal and write in your own favorite spells. www.etsy.com/shop/EllentheGardenWitch

I hope you enjoy your spring.
Blessed be, Ellen

February 7, 2014

Hello,
Its been a while since I posted a blog entry. First we had the holidays. Then a very active and bitterly cold winter season.
I've been cranking out pages for book #16. Starting book #17 Why? because clearly I am certifiable.
Then I got the flu.
Then my husband got the flu.
Then we got over that and I ended up loosing my voice after a few radio interviews. It never got better, I ended up going to urgent care last week, only to discover I had pharynxitis. Which means an infection of the vocal cords.  I am about half way through my anti bitotics and I'm fighting my way back to whatever passes for normal.

I worked on all of my lectures for Convocation and they are ready to go. I am doing four different lectures this year. 1.) When Good Magick Goes Bad: Knock, Knock, Karma is Calling. 2.) Practical Prosperity Magick. 3.) Coven Dramas and Circle Politics: How to Deal. 4.) Psychic Abilities: What are Yours? Also I am assisting another speaker, Kerr Cuhulain, with a ritual.
I had such a great time being a guest of honor at Convocation last year. I am delighted to be invited back again.  I have my outfit all together for the masquerade ball at Convocation and pretty soon I'll be up in Detroit at Convocation 2014!
Cause you know all of the beautiful people go to Detroit... in February. LOL
Seriously, Convocation is so much fun, Yes I'll work my butt off - and enjoy every minute of it!

For information on Convocation here is a link. www.convocation.org/

In a few weeks proof pages should arrive for Practical Prosperity Magick - which is book #15 Release date is June 2014.

I was hoping to have book #16 all done and off my desk. You know what they say about best laid plans. Which is why I gave myself a buffer. Book #16 is not due to my editor until May. Its a chapter and a half away from being finished.
I will continue to call it book #16 until it is finished and in her capable hands. Once its all safe then I will announce the working title. Release date for book #16 will be summer 2015.

T. DE LAS BRUJAS (ESTUCHE)In other news the Spanish version of my Witches Tarot will be released by Sirio- a publisher from Spain- April 30th this year. You can pre order it on amazon or if you are fluent in Spanish directly from Sirio   El Tarot de las Brujas

Also here is the link on amazon.com  Amazon.com El Tarot de las Brujas

Back to work for me, I wish you all health and prosperity and that spring will find its way to us sooner than later.
Blessed be, Ellen Dugan

December 9, 2013

Hello,
Sorry it has been a long time since I posted. But I have been writing away on book #16. It was finally offered a contract and we are all signed and sealed. Released date for book #16 should be spring/ summer 2015.
Here at home we have been decorating for Yule. Here is a picture of my Yule tree topper. A Big smiling golden sun for the Winter Solstice. The rest of the slim-line living room tree is a mix of flower faerie and Santa ornaments, crystal snowflakes, a variety of Santas and golden crescent moons, stars and more suns.

I taught a class on the Mysteries of Yuletide yesterday which went very well, and we have a couple of inches of snow on the ground. So it's the perfect time to bunker in and write.
I hope to get a lot of work done on book #16 before edits come in for Practical Prosperity Magick, that would be book #15-- and it will be released in June 2014.

If you are enjoying the photos and want some inspiration or more ideas for Yuletide/ Winter Solstice celebrations check out my book Seasons of Witchery and the Yuletide chapter.

Ellen Dugan's living room decorated for Yule 2013If you are looking for a unique Yuletide gift this year consider that I now offer on my website, signed copies of my all of books! If you order soon the books should still make it in time for the holidays. Please be sure to include in the Merchant instructions who you would like the book signed to.  Here is the direct link for Signed copies of my books and the Tarot kit. Purchase a Signed book by Ellen Dugan

Well, I need to get back to work on book #16. It is supposed to snow again today and I think I am going to take advantage of the quiet day and see what I can crank out.

I wish you and yours a Happy Holiday season. May it be filled with joy and magick! My best wishes for a healthy, and prosperous new year!
Good Yule!
Ellen

October 30, 2013

Hello!

It has been a while since I have posted to the blog. The big news is that my Witches Tarot is now an app for your iPhone and iPad! This became available a few weeks ago by The Fool's Dog Company and they have informed me recently that they are very pleased with the sales so far. Here is a link so you can check it out! http://www.foolsdog.com/Witches/

Also the Witches Tarot in the works for an android version app to be available early next year!  (We've had lots of requests for an android version- so sit tight! It's on the way!)

Here at home we had 2 weddings to attend in October, I taught classes in St. Louis, and tour season has just come to a close. Lately it seems that every time I turn around someone wants an interview or for me to guest blog. Which is exciting but adds to my list of things to do. Between my own family's annual party, travel, and so forth things have been pleasantly though insanely busy.

We ended up holding our party a week earlier than usual to accommodate my daughter's fall break at grad school and my author event at Turn The Page Bookstore on the 26th of October.

At our 4th Annual Halloween bash this year a couple of my friends and I decided to come as The Three Witches of Oz. Evanora, Glinda and Theodora. Here we are on the right. That's me as Evanora, Ember Grant as Glinda and Heather as Theodora. We all had a great time! Also I flew in one of my best witch-friends from Connecticut to stay with us for the party weekend. It was so much fun with Jen being here!

The night of the party was very cold. Temperatures hovered in the low 40's, and everyone stayed around the fire pits to stay warm or squeezed inside the coffin in the garage for a photo shoot. (See bottom of the page) Here is a photo from the party of my husband dressed as a gravedigger, and he was taking his job pretty seriously! (LOL)

I have only been home from the Washington DC area and the event at Turn the Page Bookstore for a couple of day. As usual it was a fabulous time! I love doing events there and its great to see Nora Roberts again, and the staff at the store always does an incredible job. This year with Nora's new book "Dark Witch" and it being so close to Halloween all of the staff were dressed like Witches! It was so cute!

Here is a group photo of all of the authors from the event at Turn The Page
Pictured are Nora Roberts, Tess Whitehurst, Victoria Dahl, Caroilyn Turgeon, and me up at the top.(There were a few Maryland local authors in the photo too.) I wish I could remember their names! I'm claiming a middle age moment.

Finally the trees in the neighborhood have started to push out their fall colors. It's colder and rainy and now it feels like Samhain. As the temps have fallen well below freezing and all of the tender annuals in my garden took a major hit and have blackened from the frost..

That's okay I will leave them alone- It adds to the creepy effect when the Trick or Treaters come a calling.
Now I need to go set up all of the Jack o'lanterns and finish the  food prep for my family as they always come over for supper and to hang out and visit on Halloween.Pumpkin pies to bake, table to set...

I wish you and yours a Happy Halloween and a Blessed Samhain! Happy Witches New Year!

Blessed be, Ellen
