About this author

Gerry Bartlett figures that vampires are pretty much like everyone else except for the liquid diet.

Then there’s the whole problem with sunlight. When would she treasure hunt for her own antiques business on the historic Strand in Galveston ?

Gerry’s a native Texan and lives halfway between Houston and Galveston with her own wonder dog, a Bedlington Terrier named Belle.

Now that she’s no longer in the classroom, she has come out of the closet and uses her real name, much to her mother’s delight and sometimes embarrassment. Author’s note: Sorry, Mom, but, yes...more

So I need hard deadlines to make myself keep my nose to the grindstone. When I do get busy, I have lots of ideas and the work flows. I know I'm lucky that happens.(less)

I don’t believe in resolutions, they just set me up for failure, usually by January 20th, so I decided to face some hard truths this year. Will they help me handle 2014 any better than I have any other year? Probably not. But you never know.

1) Hard truth number one: Some things are inevitable. Like death, taxes and the fact that as soon as I put on mascara, I’m going to sneeze. Yep, raccoon eye...

I read anything by John Sandford so I was intrigued when I found out he had taken on a co-author and tried his hand at a young adult novel. Of course this stars all new characters, including Shay, a teen who is basically homeless along with her older...more

Another good mystery by Sandra Brown. This one is set in Louisiana. While this isn't my favorite setting, the book doesn't dwell on that but centers around widow Honor and her 4 year old daughter Emily caught up in a violent world of mass murderers a...more

I'm on a Sandra Brown roll now. This one had another surprise that I didn't see coming. Not quite as great as Deadline, but still managed to make me say, hmm. This one is set in a small Texas town run by a matriarch of an oil family, the Tacketts. No...more
