Hola amigos! Look what I found on Amazon yesterday:

Here’s the English version with the shark fin, which I love:

Trouble in paradise?

An exotic wildlife preserve is a dream come true for conservation biologist Daniela Flores. Until she finds out her ex-husband is leading the research team. World-famous shark expert Sean Carmichael has only grown more ruggedly appealing in the time they were apart…the passion between them more intense than ever. But how could Daniela forgive Sean for betraying her when she needed him most?

Sean had come to the remote Farallon Islands to study killer sharks. Now a real killer is on the loose, threatening the woman he’s never stopped loving. And this time, he knows he can’t walk away. Marooned together during a deadly storm, Sean vows to go to hell and back to save Daniela…and for the chance to begin again.

***

I’ve had two other translations (Icelandic/Dangerous to Touch and Thai/Crash Into Me) but this is the first one I’ve seen online. It’s extra exciting because 1. I’ve studied Spanish and I know it pretty well 2. I write a lot of Spanish-speaking characters, including Daniela Flores of this book. I’ve always wanted to see my books in Spanish.

In case you haven’t heard, this one was nominated for a RITA award. Wish me luck! You can buy it on Kindle for $4.14.

Or on Nook for $4.34!

Thanks :)

Jill

Hi everyone! Janine of Dear Author did a fantastic write-up of the LA Times Festival of Books. You can read all about the romance panel with me, Tessa Dare, Deanna Cameron, and Dee J. Adams. Thanks Janine!!

Want to win some books or a critique by me? I’m involved in two charity auctions right now. Brenda Novak does a huge auction for juvenile diabetes every year and I always participate. My dad is diabetic and it’s a great cause. There are many prizes to bid on. Open through May. Check it out!

The second fundraiser is for Berlin Jaeger, a 7 year old girl who needs surgery to repair her leg. One of my Facebook friends asked me to help out and I was happy to! You can bid on a book or a critique. Open through July.

Sorry for the long absence…hubby and I were busy with home projects. I’d been using our spare bedroom as an office and it wasn’t in good shape. I cracked the window banging on it one day (in anger! I am so strong when full of grrr!) and it wouldn’t open after that. The carpet, once white, resembled a hyena’s coat. I’d hoarded lots of junk in the closet. Not a great creative space.

We tore out the carpet and replaced the window first. That turned into a giant pain because 1. the new window didn’t quite fit the old opening 2. most of the wood panels on the front of the house were damaged/rotten and had to be replaced. Hubby annoyed me by doing the heavy lifting and installing by himself. Because I’m so delicate, right? Hello, I’m the one who broke the window with my HULKSMASH.

After the window was done, I painted the room “Sand Dollar” (off-white) and we put in dark laminate wood flooring. Then I had some organizing and cleaning to do, because I can’t fill a fresh new room with dusty old junk. I’m still putting on the final touches but I’m very pleased. My office looks like an office, not a flophouse! I am a real career woman! A few short years ago, my computer desk sat next to a diaper changing table.

This is much better.

Maybe I will post pics. I know I promised some San Diego pics, which I haven’t delivered. I’ve had the blogging blahs lately. I share random thoughts on twitter and write reviews at various sites but I don’t have a lot of energy for promo & blogging. I was thinking about joining an author blog. Or a reader blog. I’m part of a review blog but I don’t know if I fit in. Sigh.

Friends, I am an odd bird. All writers are, I guess.

I did drum up the effort to write a guest post for Limecello. I talk about authors, snark, and my first book cover, which my husband thinks looks like female parts:

Is he right? I don’t know. I think we need a web site for Accidental Vag like Accidental Dong.

THIS is on purpose.

Have a great week, everyone!

xoxo

Hi everyone!

I’m just checking in after a short trip to Joshua Tree National Park. It was great to get away for a few days with my family.

We had a few mishaps, including a flyaway sleeping bag on the freeway. Somehow the kids’ clothes got left behind and we had to buy new stuff at Walmart. The weather was also hit-or-miss. It went from hot to cold, sunny to cloudy, windy to mild, in a blink.

Our campsite at White Tank.

On the path to Desert Queen Mine.

This arch was less than a mile from our campsite.

The kids LOVED scrambling over boulders, and my husband is a geology nut, so he was in rock heaven. We did a lot of hiking and exploring.

A big joshua tree!

I read a really great outdoorsy romance on my kindle (Ride With Me by Ruthie Knox), and I watched some rock climbers (for research!). I’ll write another post with more photos soon. I’m also planning to do a mini-tour for CAUGHT IN THE ACT. I have pics of Old Town and the San Ysidro border crossing.

April 1, 2012

I've been getting a lot of questions about Ian Foster, the secondary hero of CAUGHT IN THE ACT. Like Eric Hernandez from THE EDGE OF NIGHT, this character really grew on me while I was writing. His romance with Maria is sweet and I'd love to give them their own book.

When will it happen?

Last year, I told readers I would write a story for Eric. At the time I'd already turned in CAUGHT IN THE ACT and I was waiting to hear back from my editor about future projects. To be honest, most publishers are reluctant to pick up sequels unless the first book is a huge success. I have a growing readership and great fans, but I'm not a bestselling author. Although I'd love to write Eric's and Ian's stories, the books I'm currently contracted for are not theirs.

What am I working on?

Right now I'm revising AFTERSHOCK, coming from HQN in Jan. 2013. I'm so excited about this story! It's a disaster-themed romantic suspense about a group of earthquake survivors trapped in a freeway collapse. After that I'm starting FREEFALL, another romantic suspense with a man vs. wild theme, set in Sequoia National Park.

What's next?

I really can't say. I plan to keep writing romantic suspense, keep hoping for a breakout hit, and keep my fingers crossed for the opportunity to continue storylines from previous books. Any questions? Feel free to comment.

Thanks so much for the interest and support!!

XOXO

Jill

So many exciting things! My cup overfloweth. Today is the release day for CAUGHT IN THE ACT. I don't think it will be available at Walmart or Target but it should be on the shelf at stores like Barnes & Noble. You can order from Amazon.

If you prefer digitial, you can buy it on kindle.

Or nook.

Please feel free to request the book from your library or use digital lending. Let me know if you have any trouble getting a copy. Hope you enjoy it!!

I mentioned this yesterday, but there is a giveaway and a good discussion going on at Book Pushers. I'm talking about Tweeting Gone Wrong, and asking if authors should watch what they say on the internet. Stop by and tell me what you think!

RITA award finalists were announced this morning, and guess what? I GOT THE CALL. Leslie Kelley informed me that STRANDED WITH HER EX was nominated in the Contemporary Series Suspense/Adventure category. I'm so excited!! RWA Anaheim, here I come!

I haven't gotten any work done at all today. Can't sit still.

In other news, I'm doing a 3-book giveaway at Romance at Random. Check out my guest post on sexy covers and leave a comment for a chance to win CAUGHT IN THE ACT in the format of your choice (digital or print).

Also! The Book Pushers have posted a great review. MinnChica had wonderful things to say about the main characters, secondary characters, even the villains! I'm doing another giveaway there later today I think. Will keep you updated.

!YAY!

Moar giveaways!

Mandi of Smexy Books says: "Caught in the Act, which releases 3/27 is a really good contemporary/suspense romance book. I've had a chance to read it and it is my favorite by Jill Sorenson. The action and romance are great, plus I think she does a nice job with the supporting characters and a secondary romance. Good stuff!"

There are 5 print copies up for grabs, international readers welcome, just comment for a chance to win.

Thanks Mandi!!

LOVE! HUGS! MWAH!
