Let's see, news . . .
1) My editor pinged me the other day to let me know that The Mortal Instruments series has now been on the New York Times bestseller list for six months straight without a break. That's fairly awesome, and all thanks to you, readers, for making it happen.
2) The draft manuscript for The Clockwork Angel has been turned in. Now to turn right around and finish City of Fallen Angels. Glerk.

City of Glass is now out in Italy, where they've given it a sexy new cover:

City of Glass is also out in Germany, where the cover is a nice icy blue:

It debuted at no.5 on the Spiegel list, which is like the New York Times bestseller list in Germany, so I'm very happy about that. Especially since I'll be touring Germany and Austria in November, from the 9th to the 15th. Dates below:
November 9: Erfurt
Erfurter Herbstlese, 5 pm
November 10: Frankfurt
Hugendubel Frankfurt, 5.30 pm

First, thanks everyone who came to the Braynt Park announcement party for making it such a success. We had several hundred people but everyone was very polite and patient, even when it started raining and everyone had to squash under the tent. The guy who runs the Reading Room told me it was one of his best events "except maybe the one with Carmen Electra." So given that nobody at the event had ever been married to a Foo Fighter (that I know of), I think we did well!
So here are the announcements

* At the Bryant Park Reading Room, on the 42nd Street side of Bryant Park between 5th and 6th Ave. The reading room is in front of a statue of William Earl

So I've already mentioned this to some of you, but a little while ago Simon and Schuster let me know that they were planning a special end-of-summer event for The Mortal Instruments series, emceed by the lovely

The Infernal Devices website is now up!
Web designer Theo Black did a fantastic job. Gears clanking, smoke pouring out of chimneys, old-fashioned clocks ticking: it's a steampunk Victorian wonderland!
You can learn about the characters in the new series here.
There's some lovely artwork here.
Frequently asked questions about the series are here.
There are gorgeous wallpapers of Tessa, Will, Jem and the others here.
And probably of most interest, there's an excerpt from the seventh chapter of the book,

1) So when I said earlier that all signs pointed to Holly's and my trip to Canada being awesome, I had no idea how right I was! We had two terrific events, in Vancouver and Toronto, with 250+ people at the Vancouver signing and a shocking 500+ showing up forthe signing in Toronto — we were there from 2pm to after 7, signing and meeting people. Despite the long line, everyone was incredibly friendly and nice (must be that whole Canadian thing.) I took some photos of some of the t-shirts and other
