And so it begins again.
That’s right: revisions! I’m cautiously optimistic that this will be the round that brings Some Girls together. THIS is IT. And I have to say my editor’s notes could pass as frameable art, guys. In a museum. I really love the way she thinks. She is genius at what she does and I adore working with her.
Least of all because she sees through me in the BEST ways.
Like, when I told her any repetition she happens to see in my novel is my attempt at being Post-Modernist sh

I get meaningful spam subject lines in my inbox sometimes. Recent favourites include, but are not limited to:

I almost think they could make fantastic book titles. Almost. Maybe with some slight modifications. I MISS YOU, COME HOME. MAD of your SILENCE. Okay, I don’t know about that last one, but I like the simplicity and plaintiveness of the first. Plaintive and simple as a

I got word from my editor the other day that Cracked Up to Be is on YALSA’s 2010 list of nominees for Best Books for Young Adults! I’m chuffed, guys. CHUFFED!
So now that Cracked Up to Be is out there and people are reading it, I’ve been hearing from readers, which is awesome. One question has popped up in my inbox a surprising number of times (to me, at least), so I thought I’d take the opportunity to address it here just because, you know. I’m trying to get back into this blogging thing whe

Soooo… hi, people.
It has been A Time. In two words. Handed in round two of revisions for Some Girls Are last Monday, and now I’m very slowly working on catching up on like, everything, while I anticipate round three. Please be patient with me while I do this (but since when have you lovelies not been patient with me?)! March is mostly a blur of re-writing and coffee, but I will try to think of some things that happened and then proceed to share them with you in a hopefully entertaining way b

So I got my second editorial letter for Some Girls Are last week and I’m on a considerably tighter deadline than before. And now you know what killed my return to regular blogging! I am on such a tight deadline, you guys, I technically don’t even have time to write this entry to tell you that but since I spent like, 30 minutes last night watching REAL TRUE GHOSTS CAUGHT ON CAMERA on YouTube, I thought, you know what?
I will MAKE the time.
Except now I don’t know what to write.
I have burned u

Yesterday, I got an email from my editor that included these two words: “cover meeting.” OH, HOW MY HEART PITTER-PATTERED. I don’t think I’ll be seeing a cover for Some Girls Are like, tomorrow, or anything but I’ve flicked the cover-anticipation switch AWN.
Eee.
FYI, I updated my Novels page. It now includes a master list of reviews and interviews for Cracked Up to Be. While I was compiling the list, I got a little overwhelmed in a very good way.
Dear Book Blogging community,

Hi, guys!
That gif has nothing to do with anything. I’ve just been waiting forever to use it since I ganked it from a comment thread on ohnotheydidnt. Incidentally, that is the part of the movie I laughed REALLY LOUDLY at in the theatre that no one else did. I still don’t understand what’s not funny about Bella falling down. That’s all she does. That’s why we love her.
Anyway.
I hope this entry marks my return to regular blogging! I sent off the revised draft of Some Girls Are to my ed

Man, is there any excuse for me not updating my blog since last year? YES. That excuse is revisions for Some Girls Are, which I am still tackling, but oh em gee, you guys, I think I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I feel ashamed of my horrible blog neglect that finally lead to a really nice comment inquiring as to my whereabouts (thank you for the nudge, Teri!).
Other things I have neglected: my inbox and likely, you. For this, I’m truly sorry. I can’t wait to get back into

2008 leaves me grateful for every moment.
In 2009, I hope there are many more.
Happy New Year to you & yours.

You guys are the best, for serious. You turned Cracked Up to Be’s release date into a big, awesome, ~*sparkly*~ party on my blog and I can’t thank you enough for that. And I feel totally sorry for everyone who didn’t participate in it because they totally missed this:
REMEMBER THAT? WASN’T IT GREAT? Man, I’m glad someone got a picture because I don’t think we’ll see the likes of that on the internet again.
Anyway, I have a rule about replying to comments on entries that have some sort of
