Poet and art critic Bill Berkson figured prominently in the New York school of the 50s and 60s. He is the author of 13 books of poetry, including Saturday Night, Enigma Variations, Lush Life, and Serenade. He is a corresponding editor for Art in America, and a frequent contributor to ArtForum and Modern Painters. He lives in San Francisco.

Born in New York, Bill Berkson is a poet, art critic, and teacher. Formerly a professor of liberal arts at the San Francisco Art Institute, he lives in San Francisco and New York.
