About this author

Currently working on the third book of the BRIGGEN trilogy. Watch for this release in 2013!

I have been writing novels and screenplays for over forty years.
BRIGGEN, my third release, is an exciting science fiction/fantasy that will have you perched on the very edge of your seat until you turn the final page.

In addition, I am a veteran of the stage, singing and starring in the lead role as the tomboyish Princess Winifred in Once Upon a Mattress, which gained me an invitation to audition for the Metropolitan Opera in New York. I have received the National Thespian Award and has appeared in numerous additional theater productions in New York, Michigan and Maryland, including The Admirable Crichton, The Crucible and The Pajama Game.

These folk tales from Zimbabwe and Botswana are told by former law professor Alexander McCall Smith, a native of Zimbabwe, who now makes his home far to the north in Scotland. Africa maintains a rich tradition of oral literature and these stories are to... Read more of this blog post »

Werner Ann, I read "Fairy Breath" just now, when I was going through my friend's updates, and want to tell you that I think it's a wonderful poem! There aren't very many contemporary poets that I like, and I haven't bothered to read many --but if they all wrote like you, I'd be reading contemporary poetry a lot more. Hope you win that December contest!
