I am an Oklahoma-native transplanted in Minnesota for 23 years, and am the author of "The Edge of Nowhere."

A 1992 graduation of the University of Oklahoma, I am a rabid Oklahoma Sooner Football Fan. On most Saturdays from September through January, you can find me propped in front of the TV watching Sooner Football, or studying my smartphone for mobile updates from ESPN that give the current score of whomever OU is playing.

I'm a life-long lover of books and vehemently outspoken about banning and challenging books.

I'm blessed to come from an amazing extended family that begins with my father and his thirteen brothers and sisters. There is very little in this world more important to me than family.

Oh gosh...great question.

Without a doubt, my all-time favorite character in literature is Atticus Finch. I love that he has to make some tough decisions, and standing up for "right" puts him in the crossfire of those who would rather "follow" than "lead."

I don't know that I've been influenced so much by the characters as an author, but certainly as a human being. I love the characters in Harper Lee's masterpiece, and certainly Atticus Finch's strong sense of right and fair has influenced me as a human being. :)(less)

When I have something in my head, I literally drop everything to write and that's all I do. On other days, I don't have much to say, and so I go about my normal life. They say a writer should write every day, and I do write ever day; but not necessarily anything structured. Sometimes it's just opinion pieces or whatnot. Other days, it's part of a manuscript I'm working on.(less)

The Edge of NowhereFULL RESOLUTION EON

I think most writers probably leave little "Easter Eggs" in their novels for readers.  Sometimes those Easter Eggs are generic enough that anyone will find them, and other times they are intended for certain audiences.  In The Edge of Nowhere, there are a ton of Easter Eggs.  Some of these are a silent nod to important people in my life, and others are to the places and thing...
