Nicholas G. Schlegel (Ph.D. Wayne State University) is a Detroit-based film scholar and historian. Nicholas is the author of Sex, Sadism, Spain, and Cinema: The Spanish Horror Film (Rowman & Littlefield, 2015). He has taught film studies and production at Wayne State University since 2004. Some of his special topic seminars include Cult Movies, Film Noir and Documentary and Non Fiction Film. Additionally, Nicholas balances consultant work with teaching screenwriting seminars. He has also contributed book chapters on Mexican horror (Mexican Horror Films: Studies in the Horror Film), Japanese horror (Draculas, Vampires, and other Undead Forms : Essays on Gender, Race, and Culture) and a chapter on Jess Franco's Krimi output for the upcomi ...more
