  <about><![CDATA[Anne Sanow was born and raised in California and moved to Saudi Arabia for two years following her high school graduation.  Her stories have appeared in the &lt;i&gt;Kenyon Review&lt;/i&gt;, &lt;i&gt;Shenandoah&lt;/i&gt;, &lt;i&gt;Crab Orchard Review&lt;/i&gt;, and the &lt;i&gt;Malahat Review&lt;/i&gt;, among other publications.  She has been nominated four times for the Pushcart Prize and is the winner of the 2007 Jack Hodgins Award for Fiction.  

Sanow has taught writing at Washington University in St. Louis, Lesley University, Montserrat College of Art, and the Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire.  She has been awarded fellowships and artist residencies at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, the Jentel Foundation, the Edward F. Albee Foundation, the MacDowell Colony, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Hall Farm Center for Arts &amp; Education, and the Djrassi Resident Artists Program.
