about this author
Born and raised in Iowa, I got my bachelor's degree in communication from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. So that should tell you something.
After a brief but very fun stint in Chicago, I moved to Kansas City in 1998 and now live in the area with my husband and daughter. I earned my master's degree from the University of Missouri - Kansas City's professional writing program in 2002.
I now author my blogs Surrender, Dorothy and Surrender, Dorothy: Reviews and contribute to BlogHer (mommy & family editor), Cool Mom Picks and Savvy Source. I haven't yet quit my day job.
