About this author

I am the author of "The Divine Dantes" trilogy that is a laugh-out-loud rock love story that follows the characters of "The Divine Comedy" in modern times. The first book of the trilogy is the OTHER modern novel based on the Inferno. If "The Catcher in the Rye" met "The Divine Comedy" on a smoky lawn at a rock concert, "The Divine Dantes" would be it.

I also penned the awarding book "Coffee with Poe: A Novel of Edgar Allan Poe's Life." The book brings America's most mysterious author and poet to life as never before. It was a finalist winner in the USA Best Book Awards. Visit my website for exclusive interviews and to buy my titles.

Best regards and Goodread(ing),

Andrew Barger

Baron Friedrich Heinrich Karl De la Motte Fouquâe (1777-1843)
In 1827 the German author Baron Friedrich la Motte Fouquae published a fantasy story called "The Goblin of the Field" or "The Field of Terror." It is an excellent scary story for the first half of the nineteenth century, but failed to reach the level of the tales I picked for 6a66le: The Best Horror Short Stories 1800-1850. Enjoy!

“Literature is the most noble of professions. In fact, it is about the only one fit for a man. For my own part, there is no seducing me from the path. I shall be a litterateur, at least, all my life; nor would I abandon the hopes which still lead me on for all the gold in California.”
