Ibn Khaldūn or Ibn Khaldoun (full name, Arabic: أبو زيد عبد الرحمن بن محمد بن خلدون الحضرمي) ‎, Abū Zayd ‘Abdu r-Raḥmān bin Muḥammad bin Khaldūn Al-Ḥaḍrami, jurist and historian best known for his Muqaddimah (known as Prolegomenon in English). A book which was described by Arnold Toynbee as "a philosophy of history which is undoubtedly the greatest work of its kind that has ever yet been created by any mind in any time or place."
