I Am Legend by Richard Matheson
I Am Legend
by Richard Matheson

Classic book and grandfather of movie classic. Great to read the tale as Matheson conceived it. Dire. I'll always have a special place in my heart for Charlton Heston's version "The Omega Man." Best mutant-killing uniform ever!

2010 by Arthur C. Clarke
Enjoyable read. I didn't know how much I missed HAL. Interesting that 2010: Odyssey Two is a sequel to the 2001: A Space Odyssey movie, and not the book. Rather a strange construct for that reason.

2001 by Arthur C. Clarke
I was re-reading this to take my mind off my current writing project, and fell in love with the monoliths again. Beautiful notions. An old classic, obviously, but I found its optimism refreshing.

Do you use your tablet (iPad/Kindle Fire/etc.) primarily for reading?

They voted for: I don't have a tablet, and I don't want to read on one.

A fun read.

John Carter of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs
A very outlandish book by the creator of Tarzan. Science fantasy at its best.

Hour of the Dragon by Robert E. Howard
Hour of the Dragon
by Robert E. Howard
read in December, 2011
Another classic. Robert E. Howard and Conan are at their best when the swords are out and the odds are against them. The political intrigue and murderous plots had me wistfully thinking back to Conan's swashbuckling days.
More of G.'s books…
“Borland never watched much broadband anyway. Getting drunk and arguing with a blue screen made as much sense as yelling at the news. But hooking it up in the first place seemed like something that a normal person with responsibilities would do.”
