About this author
All of Maggie Stiefvater's life decisions have been based around her inability to be gainfully employed. Talking to yourself, staring into space, and coming to work in your pajamas are frowned upon when you're a waitress, calligraphy instructor, or technical editor (all of which she's tried), but are highly prized traits in novelists and artists. She's made her living as one or the other since she was 22. She now lives an eccentric life in the middle of nowhere, Virginia with her charmingly straight-laced husband, two kids, two neurotic dogs, and a 1973 Camaro named Loki.
I suppose this post could be for mothers of creative, strange children everywhere, but mostly, it’s for my mom. My original plan was to write this note for her on a piece of stationery, but then I looked around my office. Hi Maggie! First off thank you for accepting my friend request. I really adore your books. I just wanted to send you a comment about that blog post you did about people and "reviews". The other day I went to go look at the reviews for Lauren Kate's new book Fallen In Love because I really enjoyed it and wanted to see what other people thought. Almost all the posts that were at the top were negative ones that ripped Lauren Kate to shreads. The thing that made it even worse was NONE of them actually read the book. All I could do was shake my head. I hate how most of the time the top reviews on Goodreads are the horrible ones! Also wanted to say I really can't wait for MagicalNovel to be released. THe books were honestly one of the best wolve storys i have read in a while! i loved the main characters even though in some parts of the shiver series i did ball my eyes out they were still absoultly amazing! and the scorpio races? totally different but a good type of different! Maggie~You inspired me to write books. You are helping me write suspensfully, cleverly, and poetically. Sam and Grace's story was so much different than Twilight! his yellow eyes always inviting
and to her his kiss is enticing
The eyes of the wolves are soft puddles of hue
of greens, browns, yellows, and blues
will the young boy with yellow eyes
ever know when he will say his last goodbyes?
How could love to them be so pitiless?
but in the end, they all clean up the bloody mess
how softly they lock lips and bodies
in conclusion, they've all found their peace
