*** ABOUT MY BOOK RATINGS ***
5 stars: I loved this book so much that I expect to read it again and again -- I reserve this for beloved classics and others that knocked my socks off.

4 stars: I really enjoyed the book and/or thought it was excellently done -- there is a good possibility that I'll re-read it some time.

3 stars: I enjoyed the book and thought it was well done. Should not be taken as a slur on the book or its author -- it really does mean "I liked it".

2 stars: I didn't connect to this book as much as I'd hoped. This category includes books by authors whose othe

It seems I'm going to have to self-publish the conclusion to the series -- and since I have other contracted books to deliver first, it may be a while before I can get to it. I'm sorry about that! I wish I had better news.(less)
R.J. Anderson If there is, I'll be very surprised! I only ever planned for there to be two.

“Every man's life is a fairy tale, written by God's fingers.”
Hans Christian Andersen

“If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.”
C.S. Lewis

“Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.”
Neil Gaiman, Coraline

“If I am the pawn of the gods, it is because they know me so well, not because they make my mind up for me.”
Megan Whalen Turner, The Queen of Attolia

“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”
C.S. Lewis
