Juliet McHugh is a thirty-something writer from the North East of England. When she's not writing fiction, she writes technical documentation for a well-known software company. Her career in the IT sector spans 12 years before which she worked with bikers and lorry drivers, local government and pharmaceuticals. She likes what she does and says she rarely blushes anymore after her early working years.

She lives close to the Tyne and a cheap taxi fare from the centre of Newcastle. She loves her hometown, especially when the sun shines, which is rare enough to be something really special! Her stories are based all over the country. "Sometimes I mentally walk around Newcastle when I'm writing, but not always. I use unnamed locations so the stori

Wow. Where do I begin? This is more appreciable by those in the UK and Europe but I urge people the world over to make themselves aware of a very real crisis. A crisis not in terms of influx of refugees to European nations but  crisis in the lack of love and good will we show to them as fellow human beings. What’s rattled my cage? An album of photos circulating on social media of bodies washed...

I didn’t not enjoy Fluke. I think I enjoyed it more many years ago or perhaps when I wasn’t reading all of Herbert’s novels in order so that this fell hard on the heels of The Survivor. Written in the first person as a man who finds he has come back ...more

Hi Beth,
Thanks for accepting. Always good to know others with the same kind of constructively devious mind :)

Beth Hi Juliet,
Thanks for sending a Goodreads friend request to this fellow crime writer!

Robert Thanks for accepting my friend request, Juliet.

Juliet Tearing through the Ben Hope series by Scott Mariani - seems like cheating on the 2012 challenge they're so fast paced and quick to get through! After Ben Hope #7, think a 'Girl Who' marathon, and not only Stieg Larsson. A bit of Yasutaka Tsutui and think there should be at least a fifth 'girl who' title to round off another personal mini challenge. That's where a search on goodreads comes in :)
