I grew up in Alabama. I said I'd never come back to Alabama. Here I am, in Alabama. I've been writing since I could hold a pen, and now I've decided to share it with the world.

1/31/15, my book, "No Turning Back" will be available on Amazon.

You can check out my blog and Wattpad for news about my writing.

I had a dream about a car accident, and that dream became part of the story. I think unrequited love is a huge part of the story, and I've dealt with that personally, so I drew on my own experiences to a certain extent. I liked the idea of Kaia feeling lost and trying to find herself, because I felt like women everywhere would be able to relate to that experience. Sometimes life just seems to hit you, and that's what happens to Kaia. She has to struggle with demons from her past and present all at the same time. (less)

When I wrote "No Turning Back," I felt stuck in my past, and a lot of the writing of this novel was a cathartic exercise for me. I think a lot of women have experience with unrequited love, I know I did, and it was something I was trying to come to terms with through my writing. I drew on my experiences with that, as well as stories I'd heard from other people to come up with the idea. The accident incorporated within "No Turning Back," came from a vivid dream that resonated with me. It gave me background into Kaia's life, which helps to shape who she is and why she makes the decisions she does. (less)

Last week I wrote Xs and Os for Mid-Week Blues Buster 3.07, and I found out today I won. For those of you who write flash fiction, you should try your hand at MWBB. They use a song prompt, and it always makes my mind spin a story. 3.08 is going on right now! I was super excited to win, since this was the first flash piece I'd written in some time. I've been so busy this month.

Here's the cool... Read more of this blog post »

The Devil Within (Literature & Fiction)
1 chapters   —   updated May 13, 2015 06:37PM
Description: William Hill is only nine years old when his mother and siblings die in an horrific car crash. In the days and the months that follow, William comes face to face with evil, in the image of his own father: a grieving religious fanatic. Set in 1960s Alabama, The Devil Within is a story of survival when faced with even the worst circumstances. The Devil Within is a first draft. My pen name, Ellie Greene, is used on this work's cover. I'll release one chapter a week.

I enjoyed this book, about Paula Vauss, who is named Kali at birth. She struggles with commitment, because she betrayed her mother as a child. This book pulled me in, and did not let go. Well written and it made me cry.
