Dallas Woodburn, 24, is the author of two collections of stories (her latest, 3 a.m. was featured on the PBS book talk show "Between the Lines" and is available at Amazon.com) and editor of Dancing With The Pen: a collection of today's best youth writing. Her short fiction has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and the Dzanc Books "Best of the Web" anthology and has appeared in numerous publications including Monkeybicycle, Arcadia Journal, and The Newport Review. In 2011, she won first place out of 622 entries in the Ninth Glass Woman Prize for her short story "Woman, Running Late, in a Dress." She has written articles for numerous national publications including Writer's Digest, The Writer, Family Circle, Cicada, Justine, CO-ED, and Listen, and her stories have appeared in nine "Chicken Soup for the Soul" Books and the anthology "So, You Wanna Be a Writer?" A 2009 summa cum laude graduate of the University of Southern California, Dallas wrote a biweekly column for the USC student newspaper The Daily Trojan and has also published pieces in the Los Angeles Times and Ventura County Star. She is currently pursuing her MFA in Fiction at Purdue University, where she teaches undergraduate creative writing and composition courses and serves as Assistant Fiction Editor of Sycamore Review.

Dallas founded "Write On! For Literacy" in 2001 to encourage kids to discover confidence, joy, a self-expression and connection with others through reading and writing.
