About this author

Thanks for visiting my page. A few words of explanation about how I use Goodreads:

I find it difficult to rate books with stars, or to review friends' books. Therefore, I don't list reviews or ratings here. Rather, if I like an author's work, I will become a Goodreads fan and list him/her as a "favorite author" here. I also have one shelf listing some contemporary, realistic YA books that you might enjoy. On my blog, http://writerjenn.livejournal.com/, I do sometimes recommend books using the "recommended read" tag.

I accept fans and friends here, and browse the bookshelves.

In response to my last post about phases of being quieter online, two people (one on Blogger, one on LiveJournal) commented about feeling guilty when they withdraw from social media. The second time someone mentioned guilt, I decided I want to say more on this subject.

Why should anyone feel guilty for stepping back? I wondered. After all, blogs and Twitter feeds and Facebook pages are all optio... Read more of this blog post »

I really appreciate your comments. Thank you.

Maggie You're welcome. Thank YOU for writing it!! I finished it yesterday in one gulp. I'm gonna reread it today. Can I just say that almost everything that the characters were going through resonated with me? I've been having weird relationship issues too and this book helped put a lot of things in perspective, especially in the end. It's really an awesome book. I cried and laughed and I didn't want it to end. I can't wait to read whatever you write next :)

Thank you, Maggie!

Maggie It's raining in California right now and I'm curled up on my couch with a cup of tea and The Secret Year. It's amazing! I can't put it down. I love Julia and Colt's mom -- they're so funny and REAL! The dialogue is so right on, and Colt's voice is actually believable. I've read some YAs narrated by a male protagonist and they didn't always sound like teenage boys, but Colt really does. I just wanted to tell you that :)
