Ævar Örn is an Icelandic crime writer. He grew up in Garðarær, the Reykjavík suburb, Hafnarfjörður and the countryside close to Akranes. He studied Journalism, Politics and Philosophy at the University of Stirling for a year, and later obtained a degree in Philosophy and English Literature from Albert-Ludwigs University in Frieberg.
Aævar Örn has worked on fishing boats, in television and radio, as a journalist and translator, as well as writing his novels.
