Matthew Nienow is the author of three chapbooks: The End of the Folded Map (Codhill Press, 2011), The Smallest Working Pieces (included in By Way Of, Toadlily Press, 2009) and Two Sides of The Same Thing (Southeast Missouri State University, 2007). New work has recently appeared in Best New Poets, Indiana Review, New England Review, Prairie Schooner, Willow Springs, and elsewhere.
He has received awards from the National Endowment for the Arts (2011), the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference (2010; 2011), the Elizabeth George Foundation (2011), the Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Foundation, the University of Washington and 4Culture (2009 2010).
He is currently attending the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding in preparation for opening his own boat shop.
