When Beverly was a child she hated to read; she hated to write. In spite of her rocky relationship with books, she attended Midwestern University, graduated, and became a teacher. Now teaching meant more reading. What was she thinking? Reading great Newbery books with her sons and her students opened her eyes to the truth: Reading was fun. She even started writing. And a miracle happened: She was published.
Her young adult novels, Rebel in Blue Jeans, Listen to the Ghost, and Secrets I Have Kept, are out in trade paperback, as well as her tween novel, Just Breeze. Caves, Cannons, and Crinolines is her latest book for teens.
