About this author

New York Times best-selling novelist Scott Sigler is author of the INFECTED trilogy (INFECTED, CONTAGIOUS and PANDEMIC), ANCESTOR and NOCTURNAL, hardcover hardcover thrillers from Crown Publishing; and the co-founder of Empty Set Entertainment, which publishes his Galactic Football League series (THE ROOKIE, THE STARTER, THE ALL-PRO and THE MVP).
Before he was published, Scott built a large online following by giving away his self-recorded audiobooks as free, serialized podcasts. His loyal fans, who named themselves “Junkies,” have downloaded over eight million individual episodes of his stories and interact daily with Scott and each other in the social media space.

If it's based on modern times, with modern constructs and the same laws of physics we use, it can be harder to write fiction because the readers already know all the rules. If you're writing the supernatural or using scifi so advanced it's no different from magic, the author gets to create the rules, then explain those rules to the reader. The latter provides significantly more freedom in creating a story and a world. (less)

So in that regard, the truth is often stranger than fiction. But if truth was so amazing and strange unto itself, there would be no need for fantasy, scifi and speculative fiction. It is in the act of creating something which has never existed that new ideas and concepts emerge. And, sometimes, those concepts enter the minds of others, and can eventually become reality, or "truth" itself. (less)

Thanks :) I finally got my hands on a copy and am enjoying it immensely. I dont want it to end.

Dustin Hertel I'm a slow reader when it comes to actual hard copy print (A.D.D., no matter how good the book I can't read too long in a sitting) so I'm only a couple chapters in... but Pandemic is awesome so far!
