Hi Jayne,
Thanks for your interest in JACK AND MR. GRIN. It is NOW AVAILABLE from AMAZON !
Best,
Andy
thanks for adding me. I'm trying to actually use this a bit more. it's a neat site.
your book looks great!!
Lauren
Hi Jayne,
Thanks for the "add" as they say on Myspace.
Your stuff looks extremely interesting by ther way and I intend to check it out.
ROGER
Jayne, I finished Capote in Kansas and really enjoyed it. In order to get the most out of the book, I think you need some background on Truman Capote and Harper Lee. (I'm sure you probably do, though.) I'll have my review up in a few days.
I don't plan to travel far from home at this point, but if I do, I'll let you know. I'd love to meet you!
Something else that is swimming through my mind, but I haven't been able to form it into a question is the fact that both of the women Rupert is involved in have challenges - Julia was mentally ill and Tess was epileptic. Also, I forgot that Sheriff Rhodes in the previous question.
Jayne, I'm not in a book club and usually don't read reader's guides, so I'm not sure exactly what kind of questions you're looking for. One that does come to mind is: Tomato Girl is set in a small town and there are several people - Clara, Mr. Morgan, Mrs. Roberts - who care about Ellie and try to help her in their own way. Do you think Ellie's story would be different if it was set in a big city? Why or why not?
hi jayne! i just wanted to know if you wanted to tell me how the first chapter of my book is and if it makes you want to keep reading. Will you? if you do thanks!
Jayne, I will post a review of "Forms of Intercession" when I can put the book down long enough to write the review.
Hi, Kathy. I was born in Harrisonburg and went to James Madison University,so I know Waynesboro very well!
Wow! I didn't know you were born in Harrisonburg. My husband's from Waynesboro and our son goes to Virginia Tech.
Nice to meet you, Jeannie. If you do read "Tomato Girl," I hope you'll post your review of it here. There are some wonderful online critique groups that are a good place to practice and hone writing skills. I'll check out your website.
Best,
Jayne
Hi Jayne and thanks so much for adding me as a rading buddy. The title of your book, "Tomato Girl, sparked my interest. I'll have to check it out. Also, if you have the time, I'd love for you to visit my web site, jeanniebarber.com. I'm a novice writer so feel free to make any kind of suggestions, ideas or thoughts to correct it. While you're there, please sign the guestbook, too!
Thanks,
Jeannie
I love the Sedaris quote, too. I wish I'd thought of it! I'm a little excited...and a little nervous. Just 26 days to go! YIKES!
Love that David Sedaris quote!
You must be getting excited...your novel's release is on the horizon...
I'd be happy to read and review Tomato Girl if there is an ARC still available. I work at Tattered Cover Bookstore in Denver, and I send all my reviews of new releases out to the whole staff, so between here and there, lots of folks will see it. I could probably figure out how to post a review on Amazon--can't be that hard, right? And, depending on the release date, I might be able to get a recommendation in to IndyBound (formerly BookSense--their deadlines are really early--I think they are on to October releases at this point).
Thanks!
Thank you, Julene. It's nice to meet you! Congrats on your poem in NERVE COWBOY. I don't have any formatting tips---I simply cut and paste.
Hello Jayne, Thanks for accepting my friendship and adding me! I was inspired finding your poems posted from your various publications. So, last night I posted my very urban poem "Another Heartbreak Day At Work," which just came out in Nerve Cowboy. Thing is it didn't format as it is meant to be. Is there a secret to posting poems so they come out formatted like they are published?I'm excited to read your poetry! And, to be co-authors with you on goodreads!
Noticed your comment on rats and urban. I just wrote a short piece on rats in my journal after reading Don Mee's translation of Kim Hyesoon's poetry. Julene T. Weaver

Hello again, Jayne!
I was surprised to see your reponse to Clive Waner's post on IWW boards. It's a small world, huh?

Thanks for the friendship, Jayne! Here’s wishing you a fantastic day filled with fabulous fates, fanciful festivities, and frolicking phantom footstools.
I was wondering if you'd do me the honor of reading about my debut novel, Vacation, which recently made the Bram Stoker Award Preliminary Ballot. Your support would mean a lot to me. If you'd like to do me this honor, feel free to vist my site here:

Poetry!--how lovely. And I wish you the best with Tomato Girl (such an evocative title).
Thanks for the invitation.
