Dennis Ruane is an author who has written and published three novels, "Wooden Spoons", "Cataloochee Man", and "The Man in the Room". Although he has made a living as a woodcarver for over thirty years, Dennis habitually wrote in a journal, with the intention of gathering material for future stories. Over this period, he made several attempts to write a novel but was never satisfied with the results until a decade ago when his efforts finally met with success. Two stories followed: "Wooden Spoons" was published in 2006 and "Cataloochee Man" in 2009.

Dennis Ruane isn't a Goodreads Author (yet), but he does have a blog, so here are some recent posts imported from his feed.
I finished The Battle of Walnut Hollow early this year and have been working on rewriting and editing. The first revision has always been my least favorite part of the process because there are so many loose ends and gaps to fill in. After the first couple rewrites, the story is complete and I enjoy the process from then on. Currently I'm about a third of the way through the second rewriting.
