About this author

A former newspaper journalist, Stephen Booth is the creator of two young Derbyshire police detectives, DC Ben Cooper and DS Diane Fry, who have so far appeared in 12 crime novels, all set in and around England's Peak District.

The Cooper & Fry series has won awards on both sides of the Atlantic, and Detective Constable Cooper has been a finalist for the Sherlock Award for the Best Detective created by a British author. In 2003 the Crime Writers’ Association presented Stephen with the Dagger in the Library Award for “the author whose books have given readers most pleasure.”

I've added a couple more events this week for National Crime Writing Month. This brings my total of libraries visited up to 20 (plus the castle, the story-telling tent and several bookshops).

I'll be in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, on Wednesday 19th June for a full day of events. I don't get to do much in Lincolnshire, so don't miss it!

10am - North Lincolnshire Central Library, Carlton Street... Read more of this blog post »

Kris Neri Thanks for friending this mystery & paranormal author, Stephen. It's always great to connect with another author, especially one on the other side of the world.

Melissa Keith Thank you for the friendship, Stephen. I am an anglophile and your books appeal to me immensely. I love British mysteries. Have a lovely day.

Stephen Booth Hi, Zoë. Been ridiculously busy. I had a new book out and moved house at the same time. Not to be recommended - especially when BT leave you without phone or internet connection for weeks as a result! Hoping to get some writing done in August, if I'm lucky! How about you?

Stephen

Christine Hatfield good morning

Jan Hi, Steve. Doing pretty well, thanks. Debating whether to attend this year's B'con dinner - not as much fun these days without my traditional con dinner partner!
