about this author

Daphne is excited to announce the release of her debut novel, Super in the City, on sale January 27 from Bantam Dell.

As she discovers titillating secrets about her tenants, she finds herself with a new reality far more intriguing than her imagination.

Soon, Zephyr has sussed out wrongs that stretch from losers on the Internet to art fraud and an international crime ring. The mob thinks she's in the FBI, and the FBI thinks she's in the mob — a predicament she needs to clear up fast. But perhaps not before a cute, surly ex...more

1645401 Okay, I'm finally determined to make better use of Goodreads -- as a reader, more than as a writer. After a lifetime of reading, because my brain is a sieve, I have trouble recalling even those books that made the biggest impressions on me. Sometimes I can't remember the two hundred plus books I've reviewed. I won't try to list the thousands of books in my past, but going forward, I hope to keep a record here.
This is as much a note to myself as to anyone who cares to read this!

Nophoto-m-25x33 Hi, Daph --

It's the end of semester, and in addition to term papers and finals (or because of them), I'm reading trash: Michael B. Parker, stuff like that. Also Best Science Essays of 2009; I like that stuff. Also working my way through the novels of Patrick O'Brian, which I find soothing. Also a new book by Amanda Hesser of food essays she edited when she was at the Times, which I'm reviewing.
