As a writer of nonfiction myself, Roach's deeply researched and effortlessly hilarious writing should make me burn with jealousy...and I would be burning, if I didn't enjoy the book so damned much. Fascinating and totally un-put-downable.

More of Scott's books…
James Joyce
“Mr Leopold Bloom ate with relish the inner organs of beasts and fowls. He liked thick giblet soup, nutty gizzards, a stuffed roast heart, liverslices fried with crustcrumbs, fried hencods' roes. Most of all he liked grilled mutton kidneys which gave to his palate a fine tang of faintly scented urine.”
James Joyce, Ulysses

Robert Burns
“Some hae meat and canna eat,
And some wad eat that want it,
But we hae meat and we can eat,
And sae the Lord be thankit.”
Robert Burns

Ted Nugent
“Vegetarians are cool. All I eat are vegetarians--except for the occasional mountain lion steak.”
Ted Nugent
