| Lovely, vivid prose, a kickass concept (music as a drug! oh be still my former trumpet player heart!), and best of all, fascinating, authentic characters whose choices, sacrifices, and heartbreaks feel real enough to take your breath away. I loved ev...more | |
“I am going to die, her brain recited calmly. I am going to be stabbed until I am died. How infuriating. I have so much left to do.”

“But how can she change a person like that? said Victoria.
She just can. I'd never have thought before, ever, that I could hate music and want to leave it behind, but now--

Don't you dare ever start talking like that again, or when I get out of here, I'll leave you behind with the gofers. Lawrence smiled. I've missed your threats, Vicky.”

Good luck with your librarian degree and your writing! *FIST BUMP OF LIBRARIAN POWAHHH*
P.S. I'm a fan of babbling, so never fear!
Wow, I didn't even realize you accepted the friendvite until now, so thank you and yay for the honor! :) I'm a MLS student hopeful + aspiring author, so you're inspiring me on both counts!I am so excited for all three of your titles - just started the "pestering", in Wendy's words, by sending a request for The Cavendish Home just now.
Thanks again (and I hope I haven't scared you off with all my babble)...

P.S. Middle grade books just might be my favorite. No lie.
Claire! Thanks so much for the friendvite. I somehow missed the announcement for your second and third titles--congratulations! I love the sound of them. Looks like S&S Kids is going to get pretty sick of me pestering them for Claire Legrand titles. ;)Glad to be in touch here--it's great to snoop the shelves of friends who actually read *gasp* middle grade fiction.
