I was born and brought up in Norfolk in the UK, and studied art, art history and anthropology in the north-east of England, before taking a PhD in philosophy. These days I can be found in Leicester in the Midlands of the UK, where when I am not writing I work at De Montfort University.

I'm interested in all kinds of things: philosophy, ethics, storytelling, strange fiction, Buddhism, Chinese language and philosophy, science...
