[close] I started writing when I was seven, but it took me twenty years and about ten unfinished manuscripts to find a story I felt compelled to finish.

I started writing my first book, The Incredible Origins of the Onyx Sun, in 2005 and published it in 2008. The story follows the adventures of Zack Goodspeed who stows away on a spaceship developed by his grandfather and fueled by an unlimited source of power called the Onyx Sun. Zack is thrust into a series of adventures that strand him on the Moon, introduce him to bold new friends, and force him to confront an enemy trying to use the Onyx Sun to wipe out all life on Earth.

I am currently promoting this book, the first in a series, while working on the sequel, The Wicked Adversaries of the Onyx Sun.

My background is largely in technology and education. I currently work for the popular virtual world Second Life. Prior to Second Life, I was a senior product manager with Houghton Mifflin/Riverdeep, where I led the development of the Edmark House Series, Destination Math, and Destination Science.

I share a birthday with Douglas Adams, who is ironically one of my largest influences.
