A journalist and prizewinning short-fiction writer, Vanessa Gebbie also teaches Creative Writing, specialising in groups of marginalised adults. She founded and edits her own e-zine for writing from those whose lives have been touched by addiction, at www.tomsvoicemagazine.com. She is Assistant Editor of the small-press literary short-story and poetry magazine Cadenza. The first part of her novel in progress, "Boy in the Tunnel", won the 2007 Daily Telegraph Novel in a Year Competition. Her first short fiction collection was published in March, 2008, by Salt Publishing of Cambridge, UK.
