EVE OF DESTRUCTION by S.J. Day is the second book in the Marked series. It is well written with mystery and well detailed scenes, which include fierce fights and scorching interactions between Eve and Cain, as well as Eve and Abel.

S.J. Day continues her winning streak with Eve of Chaos. Eve is a sexy, smart character with an attitude that never quits. Her struggles to find her place in this new landscape of angels and demons makes for a compelling read. With suspense and romance to spare, Eve of Chaos will satisfy urban fantasy fans who like their cityscapes with some extra steam!

when I was having a rough day my husband carted me out to my bookstore. I couldn't decide on a book, so I asked him what he would choose for me to read. Eve of Darkness is what I ended up with. And I'm just that much more curious to read the book now, because it was chosen for me rather than by me!

Eve of Chaos is the third book in S.J. Day's Marked series, following Eve of Destruction. It isn't necessary to have read the first two books to go ahead and jump into the series with this volume. The author integrates summaries of the relevant back-story, and most of the action is self-contained despite it finishing up the story arc started with Eve of Darkness.

S. J. Day is only on book three of her series 'Eve of Chaos: Marked Book 3', but then, the first one ('Eve of Darkness') came out in April, which seems to be part of Tor's strategy to capture an audience in the way that Random House hit the decks running with the Termeraire series by Naomi Novik. Well, I picked up number three and found it to be pretty damn good.

I'm not sure exactly what prompted me to pick up Eve of Darkness by S.J. Day, the first book of "The Marked" series. Maybe it was the setting, modern-day Los Angeles with the ongoing war between Heaven and Hell being waged by organizations of Angels here on Earth? With both original brothers as main characters in the book? I love this kind of fantasy, so I was definitely there. Thankfully, the book lives up to its plot and setting...

Those who are familiar with these books know this is the 3rd, but not the last, in this incredible series by S.J. Day. And you also know that with this 3rd book came quite a cliffhanger, and while we know there will be more books, we don't know when we will get our fix, and the wait is incredibly excruciating!

Eve of Destruction - S.J. Day (Rating 8) - The second in the Marked series, this was a favorite of mine this month. Cain, Abel and Eve have quite the triangle going on.
